Preparation for Civil Service Exam

My course doesn’t require any board examinations, so, to higher the chance of my eligibility to any company or much better to a government company, I decided to take the Civil Service Exam. The examination will be on May 3, 2015. To those (Filipinos) who haven’t filed their applications yet, you still have the chance to do so until March 12. For more information, you can visit Civil Service Commission.

I’m actually kind of excited and nervous for the upcoming exam. So, this is the feeling of taking an exam where my future lies. Haha!

MSA Civil Service Reviewer for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels

I bought a book/reviewer at National Book Store a week ago to familiarize myself with the type of exam. I have only studied English, Mathematics and Philippine Constitution yet, and I find the latter the hardest so far. There are also Inductive and Abstract Reasoning type of exam and I’m nervous about it. I’m not good at them. But, I’ll try my best to review since I still got two months before the exam.

For Philippine Constitution, good thing though, I have a book about it since we studied that when we were in second year college.

The book/reviewer also has the answer keys, solutions and explanations at the back. I review with a friend, in that way we can both share knowledge to each other.

If you don’t have the book, go to PhilPad and 1taker websites. I find these two of great help and they posts tips on how to pass the exam, too. 1taker also has a free online reviewer.

I believe we can pass this exam as long as we make time to review and familiarize ourselves with the types/categories of exam. And pray.

See you, guys, on May 3. We might be seat mates or is just in one room. ๐Ÿ˜€

February 24th โ€” Keeping up with Glaiza :D

I came home around 8pm from school and it’s past 9pm already but I’m still in my school uniform, just lying on my bed.. I am physically and mentally tired. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ That kind of tiredness where you can’t breathe well and too tired to move even a single muscle. (Good thing I can still type on my phone :))

I was at school the whole day and so many things happened and did a lot of tasks today. But I’m more than happy to know that we only got ONE exam left on Tuesday!! I can’t wait to graduate already and enjoy my summer vacation. Few more days! Glaiza, let’s just be patient. 😁

Today, we also had our class picture taken. It was super fun! I’ll definitely miss my classmates. โค

Things I Do When I’m Stuck in Traffic

Traffic here in Manila is horrible. Especially during rush hours โ€” the time when people go to school or work every morning or when it’s time to leave for home. Manila is even ranked as the 9th country with the worst traffic around the world. Read here. With the thousands of vehicles, traffic is everywhere here in Manila. I even doubt that there would be a solution to that. No choice but to make it a part of my daily routine โ€” leave home early and while on traffic, do something worthwhile.

The following are the things I do when I’m stuck in traffic:
1. Read a book. I’m currently reading The Lovely Bones and most of the part of that novel is that I’ve read it on the road.

image

I love reading when I’m riding in the jeepney’s front seat, in that way, I won’t get bothered by the other passengers to hand their fares to the driver. โœŒ

2. Listen to music. I love Spotify! When it’s about good music, Spotify can be the best app you’ll have. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m in love with Ed Sheeran’s music these days.

image

3. Sleep. I usually do this when I’m on my way home from internship and when I’m with Pearl, my co-intern. Sometimes, sleeping in public vehicles can be risky. You’ll never know that the one beside you might be a thief and while you’re in your sweetest dreams, his/her hand is already making its way on your belongings inside your bag.

4. Review for quiz or exam. This is actually somewhat useless if I haven’t reviewed the night before, because every time I do this, it’s only half of the things I read that I’ll still be able to remember. Still, I do it every time. 😁

5. Check my social network accounts. Yes, like always. 😜

6. Enjoy the view. As if there’s a good view. LOL! But, if I’m not doing a thing mentioned above, I would just look outside the window and contemplate things. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wonder what you do when you’re stuck in traffic, too. Comment below. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d love to know and maybe I’d do that too, the next time I’ll get stuck in traffic.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! From Glaiza with love all the way from Manila, Philippines! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello WordPress friends! I’m actually about to sleep already but I wouldn’t want to end this day without greeting you all a happy Valentine’s!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
About the photo, I found that abandoned beautiful Bougainvillea in one of the chairs inside our classroom (yes, I had a Saturday class). I actually first saw it on my classmates who were taking random pictures of themselves with bouquets and heart posts on our wall then they abandoned it eventually. It’s too beautiful not to take a photo of it, right? I super love its color. ๐Ÿ™‚ and the Happy โค Day text!! I put it using the app Photofy.
So, how’s everyone’s day? I hope you all had lovely time with your loved ones, family or friends. ๐Ÿ™‚

Single Life: #KahitSingleAko

It’s that month of the year again where people could express their love to their significant others by doing stuff without being too cheesy because it’s February, it’s Valentine’s, and that’s totally understandable. And guys who would do extra effort to make his girlfriend or wife feel loved are totes adorable!
It’s a different story though, for us, single ladies (and boys). I checked Twitter today and found #KahitSingleAko (even I’m single) trending topic here in the Philippines. Browsing through it, I found some comforting replies to tell everyone that being single isn’t a bad thing after all.

Happy List

Despite the reports, assignments and exams at school and duties at my internship, I’m glad that I still found some happiness in my life by attending a fun conference, reading a book, listening to music or being with my friends. ๐Ÿ˜€

1. Inspiration. I have a crush at one of my co-interns. He’s a new intern that I met just last week of January. I’m extremely happy every time I see him. LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚ Because of him, I always get inspired to wake up early and go to the office. ๐Ÿ˜€

2. I was able to finish a novel entitled Teacher Beware by Charlotte Raine. I got it for free at Amazon.

3. The binge eating with my friends + a good conversation about anything is something that makes me happy too. ๐Ÿ™‚

4. Graphika Manila 2015 โ€” a conference I attended last February 1. Even though I only attended the 2nd day of the event, I’m happy that I was part of the crowd that got to listen to inspiring stories of the best multimedia and graphic design geniuses from the Philippines and other countries. The speakers during that day were Aj Dimarucot (a graphic designer and illustrator from Manila), Benson Shum (an animator of Walt Disney Animation who was one ofย  the animators behind Wreck It Ralph, Frozen and Big Hero 6), Anton Repponen & Irene Pereyra (both from New York, USA), Nicolo Nimor (from Cebu, Philippines), Vasaya (a multimedia designer from Barcelona, Spain) and Joshua Davis (a designer, technologist and author from New York, USA).

5. My family! They’re my source of happiness when I’m at home. Especially my nephew and niece. โคโค

6. The fact that I’m done with all my reporting/presentations makes me happy, too! I’ll only think about Midterm and Final exams.

7. Alexandre. My friend from Belgium who I could talk to about anything.

8. Sugar by Maroon 5. It reminds me of my crush, so, that song always brings smile on my face. ๐Ÿ˜€

9. Belle De Jour sent me the new Pantene conditioner. So glad that I was able to have it even before it was out in the market. Hihi. 😁

10. My friend gave me false eyelashes. 👍

11. Last February 2, the 113th founding anniversary of Bureau of Customs was held and it was the first time where some of the interns of Administration Department was gathered and had breakfast together (others were late or absent).ย  ๐Ÿ˜€ (My crush wasn’t in the picture.)
