Let me congratulate myself because I accomplished my Goodreads Reading Challenge 2017. 🎉 This year, I challenged myself to read 15 books and I was able to do it! With work I didn’t know I’ll have time to read. Haha!
I still have half a year to read more books and I think I’m on my 17th book now. Hooray! 💛
So, from the books I’ve read, here are my favorite quotes. 💚
🌸 “There’s a Japanese phrase that I like: koi no yokan. It doesn’t mean love at first sight. It’s closer to love at second sight. It’s the feeling when you meet someone that you’re going to fall in love with them. Maybe you don’t love them right away, but it’s inevitable that you will.” — Nicola Yoon, The Sun Is Also a Star
🌸 “You have to take your chances. Go and attempt and see what happens. And even if you fail—especially if you fail—come back with your experience and your hard-won knowledge and a story you can tell. And then later you can say, without regret or hesitation . . . ‘Once, I dared to dare greatly.” — Morgan Matson, The Unexpected Everything
🌸 “I can honestly say I’ve found the only other person in this world who understands my guilt. The only person who understands my pain. The only person who accepts that it’s who I am. I used to think the best part of me died with Les, but the best part of me is standing right here in front of me.” (Dean Holder referring to Sky. 😍) — Colleen Hoover, Losing Hope
🌸 “…everyone is given the same opportunities to succeed if they’re willing to try.” — Jay Asher, Thirteen Reasons Why
🌸 “…I have to find a way of making myself happy, I have to stop looking for happiness elsewhere.” — Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train
🌸 “I listen to his heart beating inside his chest. A heart he’s claiming isn’t capable of knowing how to love, but in actuality, it’s a heart that loves too much.” — Colleen Hoover, Ugly Love
🌸 “There is so much ugliness and imperfection in the world. We know it exists but we create further trauma by being forced to look at it. Some things are better ignored.” —Ruta Sepetys, Salt to the Sea
🌸 “Thank you for loving me like you do. Thank you for showing me that we don’t always have to be strong to be there for each other—that it’s okay to be weak, so long as we’re there. And thank you for finally finding me after all these years.” — Colleen Hoover, Hopeless
🌸 “You only have to bother teaching people who want to learn.” — Stephen King, Colorado Kid
🌸 “Some guy will definitely love you for who you are. Don’t settle.“ — Jennifer Niven, All The Bright Places
