American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin

The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom – but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys…in their house.

Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren’t happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can’t escape Emery’s fangirlisms for more than three minutes.

But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being “out of this world.” If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn’t want to come back to Earth.

I had a lot of smiles reading this book. I’m a fangirl, too. I have my favorite people that I would tweet for them to notice me or reply and whatnot. And those little things will already make me happy! What more if your favorite band will spend weeks at your house?? Oh my gosh. I’m gonna die. Haha!

I wish these band was real. I’m gonna be a Saturnite forever! 🙌

Totally love this book. 💕

Hello Nikki! You did an amazing novel and thank you for replying to my tweets. 🙌😁

Double Dare by Rhonda Nelson

Runaway bride Louisa Honeycut is looking for a quick escape when she passes the Double Dare, Inc sign and the slogan “Are you ready for the time of your life?” seems like divine intervention. Sheltered by her overbearing father, Louisa has years of catching up to do and can think of no better person than gorgeous Sam Rawlins to show her. Is she ready for the time of her life? Hell, yes.

Ordinarily unflappable adventure guide Sam Rawlins makes his living showing the wealthy how to have fun, but nothing in his experience could have prepared him for the “adventure” Louisa Honeycut asks for. He might be showing Louisa the time of her life, but the quirky little snack-cake heiress is soon turning Sam’s own life upside down…and perversely, he likes the new vantage point.

I got this for free at Amazon Kindle and this is the first novel I was able to read and finish this summer break.

I loved the part where Louisa is having her adventures (though there were only two adventures because I felt her excitement too especially that bungee jumping. I haven’t tried that before but I felt like I could feel also Louisa’s feeling when she did it. That feeling when your stomach knots when you’re jumping so high. Haha!

I have one question though, are adventure guides real? I know there are tour guides but I don’t know about adventure guides where they would accompany you in your adventure wherever it is. Wouldn’t that cost the adventure seeker bigger bill? 😁 okay, maybe it’s just the author’s product of imagination. Haha!

Another thing, I hope this novel had an editor or proofreaders, there were a lot of errors.

My Favorite First Sentences

Hello! 🙂

I’ll be doing My Favorite First Sentences in a book. Though, mine would be the ebook version since I all have these novels in that format.

Sometime last March, I joined a Spring Fling Giveaway featuring books from different authors and I’m one of the winners!! Since yesterday, I’ve been receiving emails from the authors who collaborated to make the giveaway a success. I received a total of 30+ ebooks! I don’t know if I’ll still receive an email tomorrow from the authors or that’s already all.

I checked every book and the following are my picks. 🙂

We all have morning rituals, don’t we? — My Daylight Monsters, Sarah Dalton

If I’d known I was going to fall in love that day for the first time in my life, I would have taken the attendant trials and tribulations in stride. — Watermelon Summer, Aimee Easterling & Anna Hess

Birthdays are supposed to be special like my Kaiser Wilhelm rosebushes. — Kissed, Kimberly Loth

There are times when I listen to the moralistic words of the angel on my right shoulder rather than the wicked whispers of the demon on my left. — Bone Dry, Cady Vance

The promise of July: sunglasses and cut off shorts, feeling the warm blades of grass between your toes, trips to the brook at the edge of the woods, short nights that seem to go on forever, — smothering you with oppressive heat until you wake up gasping for breath, your hair plastered to the back of your neck. — Mary Hades, Sarah Dalton

My eyes open half an hour before the roosters are due to crow. — The Edge of the Woods, Ceinwen Langley

Yearbook day is one of the best and worst days of high school. — Effie at Graduation, Tracy Marchini

It was time to open my eyes. — The Vanished, Sarah Dalton

Once, my mum told me a story about a princess, and it began with her stuck in a castle. — The Blemished, Sarah Dalton

By the way, I first saw this My Favorite First Sentences on Emma’s blog. 🙂 She thought that this is a tag kind of post so anyone could join, and so I did. 💕

The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks x quotes

I stayed up late last night just to finish this novel. It’s so beautiful! ❤

I was already hooked to this novel even just after reading its prologue and every chapter are too beautiful that you would want to read it continuously and never put it down.

I seriously had no idea that the ending will go that way! I really didn’t expect it. It was amazing.  Wow! Just wow!

Maybe some of you would say that what I wrote is kind of exaggerated. Haha! But really, I find the story super amazing! 😀

This novel was published last 2003 that I wondered why it took me so long to download this book and read it. Was I living under the rock all those years?? Lol 😜Read More »

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks x Quotes

Hello guys. ❤ I’m writing this draft at 1:16am and I just finished reading the novel. This is the second night that I stayed very late to finish this book. I can’t seem to stop reading because I wanted to know what will happen to the characters as soon as possible. It’s so beautiful that I want to cry (haha! Exagg..) and thank Nicholas for the happy ending. I love happy ending!
Who have read the book already? It’s so beautiful, right? This is definitely one of my favorites already.
I can’t wait for tomorrow, I mean later, to tell my cousin about this book. I’m sure she’ll love it, too. 🙂

Let’s get down to some quotable quotes I found from this book. I quoted a lot and I even made a simple edit for my favorite quote from this book. It reminded of my dark past. 😦

I made it because I’m planning to post it on my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. (Shameless plugging. 😜✌)

1. “Sometimes starting over is exactly what a person needs. And I think it’s admirable. A lot of people don’t have the courage it takes to do something like that.”

2. “being comfortable meant she might lower her guard” quoted this because I think I’ve done this once or twice in my life

3. “Because in the end, and no matter how hard it is, acceptance helps people move on with the rest of their lives.” 👍

4. “People hide the truth because they’re afraid.”

5. “My friend is scared all the time.”

“That’s what courage is. If she weren’t scared, she wouldn’t need courage in the first place. I admire what she did.”

6. “That’s the thing about life. A lot of the time, it isn’t easy at all. We just have to try to make the best of it.

7. “Love doesn’t mean anything if you’re not willing to make a commitment,” she said, “and you have to think not only about what you want, but about what he wants. Not just now, but in the future.”

8.  “I’m not sure anyone’s life turns out exactly the way they imagine. All we can do is to try to make the best of it. Even when it seems impossible.”

9. “I truly believe that while love can hurt, love can also heal…”

10. “Be careful what you wish for.”

11. “Long-term relationships—the ones that matter—are all about weathering the peaks and the valleys.”

12. “I’ve come to believe that in everyone’s life, there’s one undeniable moment of change, a set of circumstances that suddenly alters everything.”

Have you read the book? If not, would you give it a try? 🙂

Ashes to Ashes by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian x Quotes

I downloaded this ebook last October 20 and I only managed to finish this yesterday because I was busy with other stuff. I really liked its story that talked about friendship, and love, of course. 😀
In reading a book/ebook, I’d always highlight some quotes that I really love and sometimes post them on Twitter (with proper citation). So, today I’ll share with you some of the quotes I liked from this novel. 🙂

1. When people love each other as much as you did, the love doesn’t just go away. No matter what.” What Alex said to Lillia about the latter’s friendship with Rennie.

2. We never talk about Rennie. Sometimes we don’t even kiss. But what Reeve said about needing to see me to breathe—I feel the same way. Like if I’m away from him too long, I’m underwater.

3. They don’t know what love is. They’re just hopped up on hormones. — Kat said. 😄

4. Each of us knew the terrible truth, that the people who know you best have the power to hurt you the worst. — 👍 agree!

5. “Reeve’s going to hurt you. That’s the kind of guy he is. But maybe you know that already.” I start to pull away from him, so I can see his face, but Alex holds me still. “I want you to know one thing.”

My heart beats painfully hard inside my chest. “What?”

“When he breaks your heart, I won’t be there waiting. I’m done.” And then the song is over, and Alex lets go of me and walks away.
— that hurts! 💔

6. “I’m not giving up on you. On us.” Reeve to Lillia. Sweet. ❤

That’s all! 🙂 If only some of my ebooks weren’t deleted, I could have posted them here, too. Anyway, I’ll just download another ebook and read, and post my favorite quotes again. 🙂 I’d love to download more of Jenny Han’s novels. I’ve read To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and I liked it!

As much as I want to blog a book review, I don’t know how to make one. I ended up spoiling the story and deleted the whole post.. 😜
